Which LAB product did you use?

Who were your coaches?

For MASSATHON, it was Vishal, Rishi, Veronica and Paan.
When I come daily for my classes its usually Veronica, Paan, Pean and Rich.

What’s your background and how did you start training with The LAB?

I am Swedish and moved to Bangkok just over 2 years ago. Prior to that, we lived in France, UK, New Zealand and Borneo and Malaysia. My husband works in hospitality, which is also my professional background, hence all the moving around. We have two children; one son and one daughter who never fail to amaze me!

I have always enjoyed sports/exercise and did this from an early age. Being Swedish, I am an outdoorsy person! I do have to escape Bangkok regularly to get to the beach or the mountains to keep my sanity 😂. I also love travelling, experiencing different cultures and meeting people. I like to always challenge myself whether climbing a mountain, sleeping rough in the jungle or mountain biking amongst the rice paddies. The sense of fulfilment after a physical challenge is so great.

I have been training at The LAB for over 2 years. When we arrived in Bangkok I visited many gyms but as I walked into The LAB, I had such a good feeling about it. The friendly staff and the family atmosphere sold it to me straight away. After my first Power Hour class with Veronica, I was hooked.

Tell us about your experience at The LAB

I train at The LAB 5 times a week and on Sunday I do a long run. I run 5 days a week, most days before class. Saturday is my rest day, although my husband and I do a long leisurely walk with our dog.

My philosophy has always been “a healthy body, healthy mind”. This was what my parents taught me and I feel grateful for their advice. My Mum is 84 and is still biking around town doing her shopping. I also believe that if you work hard and put your mind to it you can achieve almost anything. However, life is about balance and I too have my vices. I try to eat healthy most days but I do enjoy a nice glass of wine and a piece of chocolate on my treat days!

The LAB is a great gym with a good selection of classes that challenges you at every level. I always leave class feeling that I had a really good workout. The coaches are amazing! They’re knowledgeable, professional, friendly and fun. They always make sure you have the correct form adapting to whatever fitness level you are at.

Tell us about your results

I have increased my muscle mass which I am very pleased about and my visceral fat rating has gone down due to the intensity of the workouts and a few changes in my diet.

How do you feel about your training at The LAB?

I would highly recommend The LAB classes to anyone who is either just starting to exercise or who is looking to improve their fitness level. The LAB caters for everybody. Come along and have fun while getting fit and healthy!

Tell us what else you want to achieve

I would still like to improve my leg strength and increase my squat weight. Also, I aim to deadlift 100kg again soon and whilst it would not be my first half marathon, if we are able to travel again by the end of the year, I would love to do the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon in 2021.
